After some really really really really really really really hectic days at work I am finally working on my first Android tutorial.
I’m starting with something that for me ended up being far more complicated than I think it should have. It may have been my lack of understanding, lack of patience, lack of practice or most likely all of the above. Honestly though I had to look at 5 different tutorials before I got this working for myself.
So what is my first tutorial eh. It’s CUSTOM LISTVIEW ADAPTERS. Android supply with a boring and plain preloaded adapter all it allows is a String (lest I missed something 😂). Buttttttttt
They do provide us with the tools to create an amazing listview:
The above example holds only text but is set out in a much much more appealing manner. There’s room for a lot more additions too.
In simple terms: I’ll talk you through how to create a stylish listview and I shall do it in a chronologically detailed way so hopefully you do not struggle like me.
Other tutorials I will cover in the future include:
EXPORTING DATA TO A PDF
STARTING ACTIVITIES PRO GRAMMATICALLY WITH RESULTS
CHANGING THE DEFAULT FONT OF YOUR APP
PASSING DATA BETWEEN VIEWS
CREATING SQL LITE DATA TABLES
I’m learning all of the above for iOS too so yeah once I get it down to the ground understand the code enough I’ll revisit these topics for Apple development.
Want to request a tutorial? Comment below and I’ll be brutally honest on if it’s out of my league or not.
